Finding articles in journals not held by your library

If you need to locate articles from journals which are not available in the library in either printed or electronic form, try the following steps:

  1. Ask the Union librarian, the ABTAPL network of which the library at UST is a part can often provide articles not held in the Union Library.
  2. Check one of the catalogues available on the web which include the holdings of more than one library, this will be quicker than searching many separate catalogues. For example, to find out if a journal is held at:
  3. If you are aware of any other library that might hold the journal you require, look at the library's web pages to see if they have an online catalogue you can search.
  4. If your searching is successful it may be possible for you to visit another library to consult the journal, for further help on organising this consult the planning library visits section.
  5. If the journal you require is not held by any local library you may be able to obtain the relevant journal articles using inter-library loan or document delivery services.
