This module of the tutorial provides training in a range of resources that you might use during your research. The sections about books, journals, theses, government publications and archives all cover training in the specifics of using these resources, whether in printed or electronic format.

The 'using electronic resources' section covers aspects (such as constructing searches) of using electronic tools which are common to a number of the electronic tools and resources you might use. Information that is specific to the use of the world wide web (such as evaluating websites) is covered in the 'using web resources' section of the tutorial.

For each of the resources this module will help you to locate, access and evaluate the resource. Links are included to relevant information (such as copyright guidance) elsewhere in the tutorial and, where appropriate, to external websites.

It should take you approximately 60 minutes to work through the whole of this module.
